Course in archaeological techniques

HERITAGE Lincolnshire is running a four week educational course on understanding archaeological methods and techniques.

Trust director David Start will examine ways in which archaeologists look for and investigate sites.

A range of techniques will be covered, including use of aerial photography, geophysics, fieldwalking, earthwork surveys and excavating test pits and how this understanding helps with designing and running an archaeological project.

No previous knowledge or experience is necessary to attend the course, which runs on Monday evenings from September 24 to October 15, 6pm to 9pm, at The Old School, Heckington. Booking is essential.

To book call 01529 461499 or email info@lincsheritage. The course, for ages 19 and above, is funded by the GROW lifelong learning programme managed by Lincolnshire County Council.
