Court: Eight accused of taking part in illegal hunt at Dowsby

Eight men from across the country have been charged with using dogs to hunt a wild mammal in Dowsby.

They are Lee Cooper, 34, of Poole Road, Lytchett, Thomas Jaffray, 32, of Eastwood Road, Middlesbrough, Danny Jeff, 21, of Poole Road, Poole, Davey Jones, 36, of Pitt Farm, Rockwell Green, William Jones, 23, of Highwood Park, Highwood Lane, Bristol, John Langan, 29, of The Hawthorns, Middlesbrough, John O’Connor, 25, Forfer Road, Hartlepool and Jamie Prosser, 25, of Asterley Drive, Middlesbrough.

They each face a charge that on November 19, at the B1177 at Dowsby, they hunted a wild mammal with a dog, contrary to the Hunting Act 2004.

Due to not all of the men receiving their summons, and at the request of a solicitor who is representing some of the defendants, the case was adjourned from Grantham magistrates’ court to Boston, where they are due to appear on Wednesday.
