Crews battle blaze at Brant Broughton

TWENTY tons of corn have been destroyed after a machine fire in Brant Broughton.

Fire crews were called to the scene at 9.26am on Monday morning to reports of a grain drier on fire at Marsh Lane on the outskirts of the village, and crews from Brant Broughton, Sleaford, North Lincoln, Corby Glen and Newark have all been in attendance during the day.

The fire has severely damaged the machine itself as well as 20 tons of grain inside, and the fire was confirmed to have been caused by machinery failure.
