David McKee of Billinghay who has been selected to be part of a team of sport massage therapists for the Olympics.
David McKee, of the Natural Health Centre on Westgate, Sleaford, has been selected to be one of the medical team at the London 2012 Olympics.
He applied to be considered for the position in Autumn 2010 with his credentials as a sports massage practitioner and he was invited for an interview to join the team in November last year.
David will now be joining the team of physicians and sports medics in Coventry, where the Olympics football matches will be based at the City of Coventry Stadium.
He said: “I’m very excited. Opportunities like this, to work with elite athletes, do not come along every day.”
David became a sports massage therapist after taking evening classes 10 years ago as he was looking for a change of career, after his time in the commerical industry. After gaining several qualifications along the way he opened up his establishment in Sleaford around six years ago.
He says he finds the work very fulfilling and enjoys a career where he can give something back to the community.
