Family left shocked after vandals graffiti their shop
OWNERS of a family-run fish and chip shop were left shocked and upset after vandals climbed onto the roof and daubed graffiti over the building.
Police are investigating the criminal damage to the rear of the Sea Queen fish and chip restaurant after someone climbed onto the roof at the back of the property in Market Place, Sleaford and drew graffiti on the wall of the first floor.
The family live above the shop and were extremely distressed by the incident.
Owner Nick Therabon said: “It is upsetting to wake up in the morning to find something like this, especially when it is near your child’s bedroom. They had to climb onto the roof to do what they have done.”
Mr Therabon has had to repaint the whole wall. He added: “It is a new business, we only opened in January, and it is the last thing you expect or want.”
He said he has since learned the area is a common target for vandals.
Police Community Support Officer Alice Wells wants to hear from any witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the surrounding area between 11pm on Saturday, May 31 and 9am on Sunday June 1, particularly near the pathway running between Market Place and Church Lane.
Anyone with any information should contact PCSO Wells at Sleaford police station on 01529 302420.
