The Metheringham Animal Welfare Supporters group (MAWS) held their annual Christmas market on Saturday, with stalls run by many local organisations.

There was a raffle with over 70 prizes donated by well-wishers, a tombola, cakes provided by local baker Carol Hargreaves, home-roasted gammon and hot dogs.

Joyce Muncey, MAWS founder, said that it had been a very successful day with a great atmosphere.

She added: “It was a lovely day and, despite the fact the weather was a bit drizzly, we had a great turnout.”

The event has raised over £900 for this year’s MAWS chosen charities: Four Legged Friends, Lincoln; Ark Retirement Home, Donna Nook; Hedgehog Care, Louth and Keith’s Dog Rescue near Skegness.

Coming up, MAWS will be holding their annual party for members and their guests on January 18 at the Mowgli Indian Restaurant.

Then on February 8, vocalist Sharna will be performing at MAWS’ new venue, The Red Lion at Dunston.
