PARISH councillors are appealing for people in the village to not spoil the playing field after having to spend part of their weekend clearing up after litter louts.
Chairman of Leasingham Parish Council Jonathan Franks was called out early on Sunday September 30 to see the state of the fields caused by a large group of people gathering there overnight.
The grass was littered with beer and vodka bottles and wrappers from fast food outlets, and Coun Franks and vice chairman Coun Phil Johnson had to spend part of their Sunday clearing up the mess.
Mr Franks said: “Many people in the village are working very hard to improve all aspects of our facilities and events like this only go to lower the morale of those who wish to be a force for good in our village.”
Now the parish council is urging those who have caused this to think about the consequences of their actions, reminding them of the damage they cause to the village and the environment.
