The Dance Development team won the Shaping Young Lives category for its work to improve the lives of young people through dance.

The Health Walks won the Go Outdoors honour. This is awarded to a project that makes positive changes to new audiences through outdoor physical activity.

Matthew Stothard, contract manager for 1Life in North Kesteven, said: “The team have worked hard on these programmes for many years and the result is not only these two national awards, but highly successful programmes that are engaging with new people every day.”

Mike Lock, leisure and cultural services manager for NKDC, said the awards ‘recognise the council’s commitment to continuing to invest in the health and wellbeing of its residents’.

There was also a nomination for NKDC’s over 60s fitness project Vitality.
