TO add to the thousands of pounds raised in memory of a Sleaford teenager, his girlfriend is now holding her own event.
Samira Thompson, the girlfriend of Nathan Cook who died at the age of 14 in December, is organising a family disco with friend Mariessa Cox, both aged 15, to raise money in Nathan’s memory.
The girls will be hosting the disco at the Mabern in Sleaford on Saturday, February 18, starting at 7pm. Proceeds from the event will go to children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargant and Cancer Research UK.
Providing the music on the night will be Samira’s grandfather DJ Robert Bradford of In To The Music, who is giving up his time for free for the event.
The girls will be running a raffle throughout the evening but are currently short on prizes and are appealing to any local people or businesses who would be willing to donate prizes to get in touch with them.
Samira said: “We decided to hold the disco to raise more money in Nathan’s name and wanted to get more families involved.”
Tickets for the disco cost £3.50 each and are available by calling 01529 413689.
