A consultation process is being held to discuss proposed updates to the Conservation Areas of Bassingham and Navenby, beginning on August 8.

The plans propose revisions to the boundary areas and includes a description of individual character areas and features that are of special interest, and once adopted will be used to develop a robust framework for planning decision making.

There has been a Conservation Area designation in place in Bassingham since June 1991 and Navenby since October 1975 however, a detailed appraisal and management plan has not, until now been developed.

As part of the North Kesteven District Council’s ongoing review of conservation areas, a public consultation on the plans will take place over a 21-day period. A public consultation event is being held at Hammond Hall, Bassingham, on August 8 (3-7pm) and at Navenby Methodist Church Hall on August 9 (3-7pm).

Coun Mike Gallagher, NKDC Executive Board member with responsibility for Development Management, said: “It’s important that our heritage and what makes the district so special is preserved, not just for now but for future generations to enjoy. The Conservation Areas in Bassingham and Navenby make up a significant part of North Kesteven’s heritage, and we want to keep it that way for as long as possible.”

Residents can view copies of the adopted appraisals and management plans and make comment online via www.n-kesteven.gov.uk/conservationareareviews or by popping into the council offices, or local parish office.
