MEMBERS of the Lions have helped to give a young Sleaford girl pedal power to give her more freedom.

Nine-year-old Jessica Pearce, who suffers from cerebral palsy, has been presented with a special mobility tricyle thanks to a £250 donation by Sleaford and District Lions and the fund-raising efforts of family and friends.

Her mum Natasha Pearce has expressed her gratitude to the Lions and to all who helped raise the money needed to buy the tricycle. As well as the Lions, she also thanked Steve and Zoe Greenwood, Bill and Dot Evans and Nick Caldwell, and Bill Elkington of Sleaford Round Table, who all helped raise funds for the tricycle.

It came as a wonderful surprise to Jessica when she received her Theraplay TMX T5 from her parents.

Mrs Pearce said: “It is now possible for Jessica to get out and play with her friends. Before, she was house-bound as the cycle she had was not suited to her condition and she could not pedal.

“Even though an adult still has to be with her, this has given her the freedom she has longed for.”
