BUNTING, sandwiches and hand made crowns were all on show over the Jubilee weekend as communities came together to celebrate Her Majesty’s Diamond year.

In villages and schools all over the area, the Jubilee spirit was clear to see, with bunting aplenty decorating street picnics and parties, school celebrations and big community weekend events.

Many primary school children and staff dressed in red, white and blue to show their support for Her Majesty, while others included a Royal theme and staged mock coronations, with a chosen King and Queen.

Sainsbury’s in Sleaford and New Life Community Centre on Mareham Lane both put on fund-raisers for Joel’s Quest as part of their Jubilee celebrations, raising £1,370 and over £700 respectively.

Villages including Metheringham, Caythorpe, Ancaster, North Kyme, Fulbeck, Anwick, Folkingham, Greylees and Heckington hosted Jubilee celebrations, with street parties and community picnic.

Helpringham unveiled a commemorative plaque and Osbournby placed a new carved bench on the green.
