Police are appealing for information after the attempted theft of a large number of high-value lawnmowers.
This incident took place at around 10.30pm last night (Tuesday) at Lawnmower Services Ltd in Grantham Road, Wellingore.
A group of thieves broke in and loaded 19 high-value lawnmowers into a van. The alarm at the premises sounded and the owner was called out and caught the thieves in the act.
They then rammed the owner’s vehicle, before leaving the scene in a second car, believed to be a Mini Cooper. The owner was not hurt, but his car was damaged. The van and the lawnmowers were abandoned at the scene.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a Mini, or a van in the area before the incident, or the Mini travelling at speed after the incident, to get in touch. Officers also want anyone with any information on the raiders to get in touch with them as soon as possible.
DI Suzanne Davies said: “This is a very serious incident and we are urging anyone with any information to call us.”
