SLEAFORD Lions Club members have presented the proceeds from a fundraising event to a locally-based athletics club.
A cheque was presented to Thelma Smith and Paul McCarthy of the Sleaford Laffletics Club for £200 by Lions president Mick Lawes at the Solo Club.
The club provides disabled children and their families with the chance to play sports together, and the money was raised at the Lions’ recent Sixties night.
Thelma said the money will be put towards new equipment or prizes for the children, who are rewarded for achievements including best behaviour, good effort and good team work. Mr Lawes added that the Lions were very proud in being able to donate the money to such a worthy cause. New members are always welcome at the Laffletics. For more information call Thelma on 01529 413204.
