Lions talk about their work
SLEAFORD and District Lions held an open day at The Source in Sleaford on Saturday.
Mick Lawes, President of Sleaford Lions said there had been a lot of interest in the club’s good work in the local community and worldwide through Lions International.
“Only recently for example we donated £500 through the Heckington Parish Council appeal towards an electric wheelchair for Kieran Tscherniawsky who is taking part in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. This and other causes come before our Community Services Committee who vet each request and make recommendations accordingly. We would like to agree to more worthwhile requests for assistance, and this is an opportunity for the people of Sleaford to see what we do, how we raise the money, and join us in our aim to assist where it is necessary.”
