STAFF at the Sleaford branch of a nationwide clothes store have raised thousands of pounds for a cancer charity.
Staff at M&Co’s shop on Southgate have been fund-raising intermittently for over three years to try to raise as much money as they could for Cancer Research. In total, they have raised £2,322 by their efforts.
They have been holding raffles at the store, with prizes donated by their customers and the staff themselves and selling home made cakes, as well as holding Name the Teddy Bear and Guess the Weight of the Cake competitions.
Store manager Gillian Stuart said: “We have all been working hard and doing our bit and are very happy with the amount we raised.
“We would like to thank all our customers who have supported us with our fund-raising. We couldn’t have done it without them.”
Nationally, M&Co stores have raised £850,000 for Cancer Research UK since 2008 when the company began its support of the charity.
Andy McGeoch, director of marketing and business development at M&Co, said: “It is really fantastic that everyone has worked together to raise so much for Cancer Research UK.”
