The defibrillators have been placed in convenient locations - beside Scopwick Village Hall, Nocton Village Hall, Mowgli Restaurant on Metheringham High Street and the Great Barrier Reef fish shop on Prince’s Street.

The Community Response Team at the East Midlands Ambulance Service assisted with the project and worked closely with resident Mike Keal.

Mike said: “It was more work then I imagined. We have supported one or two things in the village previously, but this is by far the biggest achievement.”

The defibrillators cost approximately £1,200 each, including installation and cabinet, and the money has been raised over several years using surplus from payments by advertisers for the village magazine, The Little Green Book.

Editor of the magazine Pete Ford has worked very hard producing this for the benefit of residents for many years.

A press release on Metheringham Facebook page reads: “And a big THANK you to Pete Ford whose hard work allowed us to purchase these (the defibrillators) on behalf of the villagers.”

Mike added: “We would definitely like to do more in surrounding villages and provide other defibrillators in the future.”
