Nominate young people North Kesteven for an award

THE deadline for nominations for this year's North Kesteven Youth Awards has been extended to Monday March 15.

They were launched three years ago to celebrate the dedication, care and commitment young people have for others.

Leader of North Kesteven District Council, Marion Brighton, said: "Following the sad death of Coun Duncan last month, the driving force behind the awards, officers thought it was appropriate to extend the nomination deadline to encourage more people to nominate a special young person and make this year's ceremony the best so far.

"Young people are an important part of our community and so it is vital we work at improving services and encouraging them to be involved in local democracy.

"If you know any young person who goes out of their way to help others or contribute to the community, nominate them now to make sure they receive the thanks they deserve."

Nomination forms are available at various locations in North Kesteven, including the district council offices and INFO-LINKS offices in Metheringham and North Hykeham. They will also be on hand in various schools, the North Kesteven Sports Centre, Northgate Sports Centre, The Hub, community centres, village halls and local Youth Centres (North Hykeham, Skellingthorpe, Waddington, Sleaford, Ruskington, Witham St Hughs and Bracebridge).

In addition, nomination forms can be found on the District Council's website by visiting, www.n-kesteven.gov.uk/communityawards
