A village nursery has raised £630 for a cancer charity.

The newly-renamed Ancaster Village Nursery, formerly Start Right Nursery, held a Christmas fair for families and local residents and combined with previous events during the year, managed to generate £630 for CLIC Sargent - their chosen charity.

Nursery manager Imogen Phyllis , pictured left, said it went really well, with lots of people enjoying the games, stalls, craft-making sessions for children, refreshments and Santa’s Grotto.

The event also heralded the name change which was chosen to avoid further confusion with another nearby nursery.
