Old neighbours are holding reunion party
RESIDENTS, past and present, of a Sleaford street are throwing a reunion party.
The event is to be held on Woodside playing field for current and former residents of Beech Rise on Sunday August 15, starting at 2pm.
Pamela Bristow, now of York Road, lived in Beech Rise from the age of 11 and her mum still lives there.
She and a friend had been reminiscing about the old days and thought it would be nice to catch up with some of their old neighbours after more than 40 years. They hit upon the idea of holding a reunion for Beech Rise residents and their families.
She said: "I am 60 now and left school when I was 15. It will be 45 years since I saw some the old Beech Rise residents, so it will be nice to see some of the old people who used to live there again for a chat."
The organisers will be putting up gazebos to provide shade and tables for food and she asked anyone coming to bring their own food and drink and chairs.
It will be a fairly informal affair with no alcohol sold.
Sleaford Town Council are allowing the event providing the residents leave the playing field in a clean and tidy condition and do not do cause a disturbance.
