Heckington Parish Council is facing an employment tribunal after the resignation of its clerk, Angela Edwards.

Chairman Jan Palmer explained at last Monday’s meeting they had had to add £4,000 to their budget for next year to cover legal fees and a potential claim.

Coun Palmer said they will need £84,730 for the coming year’s precept, compared to £75,800 last year. This included an increase in wages and pension contributions - something queried by a member of the public - and to pay off the £2,500 needed for a recent by-election.

The anticipated salary cost this year is £33,872, rising to £35,700.00 for next year, £1,000 of which is to allow for the new pensions regulations.
