FOR members of the Porsche Owners Club GB their recent ‘out and about day’ brought them to Sleaford, where they paid a visit to one of the town’s specialist businesses.
They visited AW Repair Group’s accident repair centre premises on Sleaford Business Park to attend the firm’s Body Shop Open Day on Saturday August 11.
With their passion for cars, the group was fascinated to learn all the latest techniques used by AW in repairing motors, with two of AW Repair Group’s Porsche approved panel technicians explaining the procedure for aluminium repair and demonstrating dent pulling, heat application and welding on a selection of panels.
In addition to the peek behind the scenes of the Sleaford business, the Porsche owners were treated to a pub lunch at the Finch Hatton Arm in Ewerby at the end of the day.
Porsche Club GB’s regional chairman Richard Watkinson said his members had enjoyed their day and he praised the AW team for their hospitality.
He added: “It was very informative and showed many processes from start to finish.
“I can certainly understand why AW is Porsche accredited and why there needs to be an approved network.”
