YOUNGSTERS are preparing to pull on their flippers and get swimming for charity.

PUpils at Ruskington’s Winchelsea School will be taking part in a Swimathon on Friday, May 25 to raise money for Sport Relief. The idea came from one of the pupil’s parents who suggested a fund-raising activity for the pupils and the school immediately dived in.

During the morning 16 pupils will be swimming lengths of the pool in a relay for two hours and they are appealing for support from the community to reach their target of £200.

The school is being supported by Phillips bus company in Ruskington, who are transporting the children free of charge from school to Sleaford swimming pool, which is also being provided for free.

Winchelsea set up a pledge page for anyone wanting to support the efforts with donations. This page can be found at http://my.sportrelief.com/sponsor/winchelseaprimaryschool
