THIS is the end result after a car was involved in a collision with a fire engine on Saturday night (February 11).

At around 9.50pm a red Vauxhall Vectra is believed to have pulled out in front of a fire engine on Lincoln Road, just by Galley Hill bridge, and was shunted into the railings by the larger vehicle.

The owner of the Vectra, owned by a 49-year-old man and the driver of the fire engine, a 42-year-old man, both from Sleaford, were both breathalyzed at the scene and gave negative samples. No-one was injured in the incident.
