Essential surface dressing works will take place overnight at five locations on the A17 between Monday July 29 and Thursday August 8, subject to weather conditions.
Work will take place during the nights between 8pm and 6am at Long Sutton, Swineshead, Sutton Bridge, Fosdyke and Hoffleet Stow over ten nights under temporary road closures: A17 Long Sutton will be closed from the B1190 roundabout to the A1101 roundabout between July 29 and 31, and on August 3 and 4. A17 Swineshead will be closed from the A1211 to East Heckington on the same dates, except for August 3 when it will be open. A17 Sutton Bridge will be closed from the A1101 roundabout at Wisbech to Tydd Road between July 30 and 1August, and on August 5 and 6. A17 Fosdyke will be closed between Sutterton roundabout and Fosdyke village on July 31, August 1, 6 and 7. A17 Hoffleet Stow will be closed between Bicker Bar and Wigtoft on July 31, August 2, 3 and 7. On Wednesday July 31 only three sections of the A17 will be closed at one time. A17 Swineshead and Hoffleet Stow will not be closed at the same time.
Martyn Allen, Network and Development Manager, says: “We appreciate that the A17 is a very busy road, so we will improve the road surface at these locations overnight simultaneously, to avoid us having to revisit the road in the near future and ensure that we cause the minimum amount of disruption to motorists that we can.”
Advance warning signs will be in place and diversion routes will be signposted throughout.
