The life of top darts player Ray

Last week we showed you a photo supplied by Ken Rushby of Ruskington, of his uncle, Ray Rushby.

He found the picture while clearing out some drawers and believes it was likely to be from the 1950s.

Ray Rushby lived in Albion Terrace in Sleaford, and played darts for the White Horse pub in Sleaford and later The Horseshoes in Silk Willoughby.

He was a finalist in the top national darts competition of the fifties, sponsored by the News of the World.

Mr Rushby had more photos of his uncle too. One picture shows him with Ken’s Auntie May going on a bus trip.

In the other he is pictured with his pub’s dart team.

Can you tell us which pub team this was?

Or maybe you can name the folks in either of these two photos?

Ray also played bowls later in life.

Ken ran Anwick Football Club for many years.
