Police are appealing for residents to come forward and identify their missing property after a raid recovered an amazing stash of power tools.
Officers carried out a search warrant on an address in Eastgate, Sleaford, following a tip- off and recovered an Aladdin’s cave of tools believed to have been stolen locally.
No arrests have been made yet, but some items have already been linked to burglaries from sheds and vehicles over the last couple of months, while others remain unidentified and the public is being asked to help.
Sgt Mark Gee said: “If anyone has been broken into and recognises any item that could be theirs, contact us and we will follow it up.”
Commenting on the raid, he said: “It is a very good result. Over Christmas and going back to October we have had a lot of shed burglaries and thefts from motor vehicles.”
There have been further burglaries in and around the town in the last week.
Sgt Gee said it was possible there could be more, not yet known about, as unreported thefts could be linked to the recovered tools which include valuable items such as a DeWalt drill, an electric chainsaw and two petrol strimmers.
The full catalogue of equipment is: a Bosch battery strimmer with two batteries and charger in a Tesco bag; Ryobi petrol strimmer; petrol strimmer with red engine and silver handle, blue 18v Powerbase power drill and battery; Powerbase blue hand drill; Black and Decker two speed drill; 12V Black and Decker 12v cordless drill in black and red box; Black and Decker two heat setting paint stripper in box; metal Kennedy G-clamp; metal crowbar in red flaking paint; CK spirit level and angle grinder; assorted tools – hand drill, spirit level and paint stripper; DeWalt drill DC725; Worx WX14DD 14.4v in orange; 51 piece drill set in silver case; Powercraft rotary hammer drill.
