Beverley Gormley from Heritage Lincolnshire explains: “Heritage Lincolnshire is 25 years old this year and we’ve been based in Heckington’s Old School since 1994.

“Help us celebrate this anniversary by taking part in this special excavation experience.

“Our professional archaeologists will be on hand to offer advice and guidance, so don’t miss this great opportunity to be an archaeologist for a weekend.”

She said: “We have already found some interesing items as we did a test pit at the local primary school on the field last week before the end of term. They found some really interesting bits of metalwork and glass and we’re hoping we will find some more pieces this weekend. There is still time to join in.”

Results will be displayed in their marquee at the Heckington Show.
