WI members enjoy a taste of India

WI NEWS - At the June meeting of Ruskington WI, Meena Cuthbert explained the characteristics of each separate area of India, her birthplace, concentrating on the fashion and cultural differences of the country.

She brought along some Indian costumes for members to view.

A few days later WI members were treated to a hands on presentation by the chef of the Green Elachi in Ruskington.

They were shown the various spices and flavours involved in creating the dishes the restaurant has on its menu. Members were then treated to a ‘beginners dish’, a fragrantly spiced Chicken Biriani with Korma sauce and salad.

Ruskington WI meet at the Winchelsea Centre at 7.15pm on the second Wednesday of the month. For more information contact secretary Janet Roddis on 01526 830165

Today (Wednesday) Ruskington WI will be hearing a talk on the topic Suffragettes and Granny Rawle presented by Mick Rawle.
