Woman jogger seriously injured after being hit by a car in Sleaford

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a traffic collision on Grantham Road, Sleaford.

The incident occurred at about 7.56pm on Friday at the junction of Grantham Road with Ancaster Drive.

A black Volkswagen Transporter van, driven by a 24-year-old man from Gloucestershire, was travelling from Sleaford west out of town, while a silver Ford Focus was travelling east towards Sleaford, driven by another 24-year-old man.

The vehicles collided almost head on, resulting in the Fiesta spinning round, mounting the pavement and colliding with a 25-year-old woman jogger from Sleaford. She was taken by ambulance to Lincoln County Hospital with serious head and chest injuries. She was said to be in a stable condition.A male pedestrian jogging with the woman suffered minor injuries.
