YOU can help provide comfort to more terminally ill people this summer, just by putting the kettle on.
Marie Curie has launched its Blooming Great Tea Party appeal and fundraisers Stuart Wyle and Charlotte Jackson popped into Sleaford’s National Centre for Craft and Design to encourage people to hold their own tea party this summer.
Anyone can host a fundraising party, whether in their home, place of work or school, and even a small group of friends sharing a cuppa can make a huge difference.
Since 2004, Marie Curie Cancer Care has been campaigning for more patients to be cared for and die in their place of choice.
Last year 152 Blooming Great Tea Party events were held throughout Lincolnshire which raised around £22,000 for Marie Curie Nurses.
Stuart said: “We had great fun on the tour to promote the Blooming Great Tea Party and we’re asking everyone in the community to host their own tea party to help raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care this summer. Whether it’s a simple gathering of friends for a cuppa, a bake sale at work, afternoon tea or a garden party to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, it’s a great way to get together with friends, family or colleagues.”
