Joint organiser Jill Notley, who also runs A1 Dog Training, said it was fantastic: “We had numerous entries and demonstrators so we hope to do it again next year.”

She runs the day with Emma Yardley with the help of a team of volunteers on Boston Road Recreation Ground. They raised around £700 for chosen charities Canine Partners, Macmillan Cancer Care, Stroke and Hollies Animal Re-homing Trust.

Flt Sgt Will Barrow brought Buster, the RAF police’s life time mascot and only dog to have served five times in Afghanistan, joined by another RAF dog on parade for photos.
