Police have launched an enquiry after the bodies of a man and woman were found at a property in Cornwall Way, Ruskington, near Sleaford.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman stated officers were called to the address around 3pm yesterday (Thursday) where the man and woman, both aged in their 50s, were found. They were both confirmed dead at the scene by paramedics.

“A scene guard has been put in place while initial investigations are undertaken.” The spokesman said police are treating both the deaths as unexplained but not suspicious at this time.

Formal identification has yet to take place and post mortems will be carried out in due course.

The pair are said to have been North Kesteven District Council tenants of the property and were discovered after a neighbour became concerned and reported it to the council. A housing officer attended and reported it to police who took charge of the investigation.

Phil Roberts, Head of Service for Housing, Partnerships and Communities said: “Our sympathy goes out to the family at this extremely tragic time. As landlords we will work with and support the police in their investigations.”
