Preparations are almost complete for the St George’s Day Market to be held in Sleaford market place on Saturday April 18 from 9am to 3pm..

The regular market traders can be joined by anyone wishing to have a free pitch, subject to pre-booking. Stalls are not provided. Proof of public liability insurance and a £20 refundable deposit is needed. Book by April 13.

Pitches already booked include jewellery, crafts, wooden turning, charities, photography and cakes.

There will be plenty to see including two performances from the Sleaford Ukulele Orchestra, an ‘open mic’ session, children’s entertainer, a selection of motor trikes, classic bicycles and there will be a special St George vs The Dragon performance by pupils of the William Alvey School.

A St George’s-themed letter search will also take place on the same day at Boston Road Recreation Ground. Entry forms will be available from the kiosk and completed entries will win an Easter egg (while stocks last).

A themed shop window search will take place in the weeks running up to St George’s Day. Entry forms are available from the Sleaford Town Council offices to win a WHSmith voucher. All shops in Sleaford are invited to join in to win some treats.
