The results of a speed survey have caused concern among villagers.

Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership recorded vehicle speeds along Sleaford Road in Heckington in October for six days and a large number were exceeding the 30mph limit.

At the January 26 parish council meeting a resident who had obtained the figures pointed out that 604 vehicles were doing speeds of 40-44mph, 178 at 45-49mph and 51 exceeding 50mph.

He called for a speed indicator sign to be installed as has been done at Osbournby.

Local police have pledged to monitor the area.
