Motorists are to be warned not to overstay their welcome when parking on the village green in Heckington.
Drivers are to be reminded by Heckington Parish Council that the green in the centre of the village is exactly that - and they are only allowed to park there by the goodwill of the council.
A sign will now be put up warning that the council has the right to move cars when necessary in an emergency, at the owner’s expense.
It had been suggested by one parish councillor at the meeting on January 26 that a time limit could be imposed after one vehicle was abandoned there for five days, getting in the way of essential repairs to the surface. But it was felt the authority did not have the capacity to police a time limit.
