Heckington Parish Council has elected to increase its precept by two per cent.

That would equate to an increase in its share of the council tax for villagers of 20p a month.

At the council’s January 26 meeting, it was calculated income for the coming years from council tax, a Government grant and other fees was predicted to come to £77,782.

Outgoings would come to £71,665, but £6,000 extra is being budgeted for to meet the cost of replacing equipment and resurfacing the village green.
