Last year the event helped take the branch’s Poppy Appeal total to more than £36,000.

Jim McQuade, director of music for Sleaford Concert Band, has confirmed there will be a world premiére – a piece of music, as a tribute to the 75th anniversary of the first flight of the Lancaster. ‘Bomber Boys’ has been arranged by a member of the band.

Branch chairman Clive Candlin said: “It is a stunning piece of music that is also linked to a video.”

Professional violinist, Steve Clark, will perform the theme from Schindler’s List and The Ruffs will perform their emotional song, Gallipoli. The second half is a Last Night of the Proms.
