Rail show marks its Jubilee

GRANTHAM Railway Society will be marking their Silver Jubilee Railshow with an even bigger show at a new venue and with sponsorship provided by Hull Trains.

The Railshow takes place this Saturday and Sunday and this year has 12 high quality layouts, with themes including a County Durham colliery village, the West Highlands and the OO gauge Rawthorne, which is based on the Peak District village.

Foreign railways will also be featured, with Wellsville depicting, in N gauge, an industrial location in the USA, while Coyote Creek is a HO layout situated in the desert of Southern Arizona.

There will be a varied selection of trade stands and refreshments will be available.

The Railshow is taking place at Walton Girls High School on Kitty Briggs Lane in Grantham. It is open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 9.30am to 4.30pm on Sunday.

Entry to the show is £3 for adults, £1.50 for children and seniors £2, with a family ticket £8. Under 5s go free.
