A Cranwell Scout has been organising donations for a homeless charity.

Callum Bailey has organised donations for the Nomad Trust in Lincoln as part of his Gold Award for Scouts.

Callum, a member of the 1st Cranwell (RAF) Scout Group, is working towards his Gold Scout Award for which he has to achieve seven Challenge Badges.

He explained: “As part of my Global Challenge Badge I visited all of the sections in the Scout Group - Beavers, Cubs and Scouts - to talk to them about homelessness.

“My talk explained what homelessness was, the causes, how to tackle it, how to help people move on, how it affects other countries and what we can do to help.”

As part of this he set about raising awareness of the Nomad Trust and arranged food items to be donated for the Nomad Trust Night Shelter.

He said: “The response from my Scout Group was exceptional.” He went to the Nomad Trust shop in Lincoln on June 13 to hand over the food.
