Controversial proposals for a poultry farm at Holdingham were turned down by North Kesteven District Council, despite having been recommended for approval by officers.

The plan for the facility, which would have room for up to 590,000 birds, were rejected on grounds of visual impact.

○ Manager of Sleaford Town Kris Jones was in an ‘extremely critical’ condition following a car crash on the A1.

The 33-year-old father-of-three was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, following the incident.

○ The debut music video of a Sleaford band, featuring such heroes of children’s TV as Muffin the Mule and Button Moon, had its premiere.

The promo for Glass Onion’s Don’t Be Afraid was unveiled at St Anne’s Church Rectory, in Soho, London.

○ Heckington Windmill regained its flour power after four years.

The Hale Road building, the only surviving eight-sailed windmill in the country, ground its first flour since July 2010 after having new sails added earlier in the summer.
