A new group aiming to boost Sleaford’s economic and social value, dubbed the Sleaford Town Team, had its offical launch.

The event included a message of support from retail guru Mary Portas.

l Villagers spoke of their shock after a couple were found dead at their home in Cornwall Way, Ruskington.

They were named locally as Steven and Caroline Harris.

Police were treating the deaths as unexplained, but not suspicious.

l Hi-Brow Fashions, in Sleaford, announced it would be closing after almost 45 years in business with its owners, Mark and Audrey Well, entering retirment.

The Market Place shop opened in October, 1970.

l Sleaford’s straw-fired power plant was officially opened by the Government’s minister for energy and climate change, Barnoness Verma.

The 32MW Sleaford Renweable Energy Plant, in Boston Road, began commercial operation in September.

Planning permission for the facility was awarded as far back as November 2008.
