Organisers of a treasure hunt-style charity event near Sleaford have announced that participants will be given a list of selfie targets.

The Very Amazing Pink Ribbon Race takes place on Saturday, July 18, starting at Caythorpe playing fields at 9.30am and finishing at Grantham Tennis Club.

Caythorpe resident Sue Stannard, who devised the format, has revealed that there will be about 10 people, places or things to find to try to get in a picture with.

Everyone will be asked to post their selfies on the event’s Facebook page and the best set will get a prize.

Sue also announced that the route will pass through the grounds of Belton House, by kind permission of the National Trust management.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Breast Cancer Campaign. Sue was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer in 2011.

She said: “It is wonderful to see co-operation and support between different charities, and the walk through the park to the Lion Gate at Manthorpe is beautiful.

“From there, people will continue down Belton Lane before joining the lovely waterside path through Grantham’s Elizabeth Park and on into Wyndham Park.”

To get more information, visit the event’s Facebook page or email theamazingpinkribbonrace@gmail.com. You can also follow @veryamazingrace on Twitter.

Entry should be done online, with a cut-off date to be announced. It costs £12 per adult and £8 for under 16s, with every under-12 entrant receiving a £5 voucher to be used against an Inspire+ sports summer camp. You can enter the event via a sign-up button on the Facebook page.
