Sleaford and North Hykeham MP Stephen Phillips has joined 20-plus political leaders and senior party members from across the political spectrum in Lincolnshire who have signed a letter urging the county’s electors to Vote Leave in the EU Referendum on June 23.
Mr Phillips said: “The EU has become an institution that lacks democratic consensus in the UK. It is no longer the trading union for which my parents voted in 1975.”
Other signatories include Coun Mike Gallagher - Deputy Leader of NKDC (Conservative), Coun Martin Hill - Leader of the County Council and Conservative member for Folkingham Rural, Andrew Lewer - East Midlands MEP and Executive County Councillor Richard Davies,
Other parties represented include Liberal Democrats, Lincolnshire Independents and UKIP.
The letter is issued today (Wednesday), at the start of a Greater Lincolnshire Vote Leave Grand Tour, led by Lincoln MP Karl McCartney. The Tour will visit 14 locations, dropping in on Sleaford Market Place at 5.15pm.
