A police spokesman said they believe the collision involved a mobility scooter and a white Ford panel van on the B1189, Station Road, at Metheringham at approximately 8pm.

The van is thought to have sustained damage to its left wing mirror after striking an 66-year-old woman on the mobility scooter as she was crossing the road. She was taken to Lincoln County Hospital with serious leg injuries.

The vehicle may also have sustained other damage to its front left side as a result of the collision. The vehicle did not stop at the scene and drove away on the B1189 towards Woodhall Spa.
