Police have confirmed that the body of a motorcyclist found in a stream in Cumbria is that of missing 19-year-old former Sleaford man Scott Dores.
Mr Dores, who had been living at Seascale in Cumbria and working as a chef at a local pub, was said by police to have died after his Yamaha motorcycle left the road at Eskdale Green. No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said Mr Dores was reported missing at about 10.20pm on Friday after he failed to turn up for a shift at work that was due to start earlier that afternoon.
Following a search by Cumbria Police of his route to work he was located in the stream at the bottom of a hill at Eskdale Green just after 1pm on Saturday.
Mountain Rescue were called to assist in the operation.
He and his family moved away from the Sleaford area to live in Cumbria, although some relatives do still live locally.
The family said: “It is with great sadness that Scott has so tragically been taken from us. He was a much loved partner to his fiancée Holly and doting dad to Connie Mae. He was a lifelong Norwich supporter and enjoyed being creative in his job as a chef. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him and he will never be forgotten.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident or anyone who saw a Yamaha motorcycle travelling in the area of Eskdale prior to the crash.
Anyone with information has been asked to contact police on 101.
