Resurfacing work is due to start tomorrow (Thursday) on a stretch of the A15 near Sleaford.

A programme of resurfacing is scheduled to take place on the A15 starting from tomorrow and continuing until October 20.

The county highways department says the works at Aswarby will ensure that the roads will have a longer lasting, more durable surface, avoiding the need for future unscheduled works which cause greater disruption.

The A15 will be closed for the work between 8pm to 6am to minimise disruption to the travelling public, between Aunsby Road and the water treatment Works. (Access to Tally Ho! pub to be maintained from the north).

A diversion will be in place via A52, B6403, A153. Work will take place Monday to Thursday nights, with no work taking place Friday to Sunday nights.

The contractor will be required to keep noise to a minimum after 11pm.

Additional works have been scheduled for the A153 at Tattershall Bridge from October 21 to 27, with working hours between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be in place via B1192, A1121, A17 and B1395. The A153 will be closed between Twenty Foot Bank and Elizabeth Avenue.

Due to the nature of the work, the impact of weather, and the fact it is a rolling programme of work these dates may be subject to change.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and drive with extra care and reduced speed over the newly treated surfaces until all road markings have been replaced.
