Three elderly people have been taken to hospital for treatment after being involved in a head-on smash with a lorry.

The collision was reported just before 1.45pm this afternoon on the A153 Back Lane at Wilsford and involved an orange Scania lorry driven by a 52-year-old man from Ruskington driving for a Quarrington-based firm, and a blue Suzuki Wagon R containing three elderly people from Horncastle.

A police spokesman said no-one appears to have been seriously hurt. The three occupants of the Suzuki were taken to Lincoln County Hospital.

The road was re-opened by just after 3pm.
