UPDATE Tuesday 8.55am: Straw and grassland blaze in Kelby

Firefighters from Sleaford were called to a blaze involving straw and grassland in Kelby on Monday evening.

It broke out shortly before 6.40pm and crews used water jets and farm machinery to put out the blaze.

There were no reports of any injuries.

MONDAY 5.45PM: A fire crew from Sleaford attended a report of a brash fire on land off The Drove this afternoon (Monday).

The firefighters used two hose reel jets to extinguish the 50 sq metre area affected.

○ In an incident this morning, a fire crew from Billingborough had to be called to an elderly woman stuck on a stairlift.

A fire service spokesperson said the faulty stairlift had become stuck during use at a property on London Road, Sleaford.

The incident was reported at 11.44am and the firefighters were able to carry the resident to safety.
