Properties in Ruskington and Sleaford were affected by slow running and non-running water on the evening of the hottest day of the year, last night (Wednesday) after a pump stopped working - with more work taking place this evening (Thursday).
Anglian Water were forced to temporarily stop the water from properties in the area while the problem was affected.
It is currently unclear how long the water was off in total and how many properties were affected.
This evening, the company will be ‘flushing’ the pipes to get rid of any air that may have got into the pipes while repairs were taking place.
A spokesman said water coming out of taps may look dusty, but reassured residents it was only air and was ‘harmless’.
They said that once a glass is poured, if the water is left it will settle and become clear.
Properties in Ruskington, Sleaford, Heckington, Ewerby and Kirkby la Thorpe will be affected by the flushing process.
The spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience.”
